Tips & Tricks

Header and Footer Detection

Solid Converter PDF version 3.1 gives you more options when it comes to working with headers and footers. You can choose to work with your headers and footers on a document-wide basis, or on a page-by-page basis. Or you can remove them altogether. It’s up to you, and it’s easy.

Step 1
Open Solid Converter PDF

You can open Solid Converter PDF using one of the following methods:

  • Desktop. Double-click on the Solid Converter PDF icon.
  • Windows Start menu. From your Microsoft Windows Start Programs menu, select Solid Documents | Solid Converter PDF | Solid Converter PDF.

Step 2
Select Files and Open Wizard

In the Solid Converter PDF window, browse to the folder containing the PDF file(s) you want to convert. Select one or more source files to convert (you can hold down the CTRL key to select multiple files), then click the Convert button to begin the wizard.

Step 3
Select Conversion Options

At this point, the wizard will guide you through your conversion options. Each page will provide options from which you can choose. Once you've made your choice, click Next to go to the next page.

When you reach the Headers and Footers page (below), select how you want headers and/or footers from the PDF file to be recovered.

  • Selecting Recover as headers and/or footers brings the headers and footers into Word's Header/Footer feature, meaning the content will appear on each page throughout the entire document. (You can access the Header/Footer feature in Word by selecting View | Header and Footer.)
  • Selecting Place in the body of the document places the headers and footers in separate text boxes on each page of the document.
  • Selecting Remove entirely removes existing headers and/or footers from the document.

Once you have made your selection, click Next to continue.

Your Header/Footer choices will be implemented when your conversion is complete.
